LEAD ENGINEER
Dave Huffman
Dave Huffman has worked alongside Chris Athens since 2013. He started as Chris’s mastering assistant, learned directly from him, and grew into a mastering engineer. He now serves as lead mastering engineer at Chris Athens Masters.
For more than a decade, Dave worked on major releases while learning the standards, process, and sonic approach that shaped the studio. His work spans hip-hop, pop, rock, R&B, metal, and singer-songwriter projects.
Dave’s credits include work connected to Drake, Mac Miller, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Zach Bryan, The Weeknd, J. Cole, Childish Gambino, Blxst, The Black Crowes, Robert Glasper, Polyphia, The Devil Wears Prada, Jesse Welles, and more.
Recent mastering work includes Drake’s three-album release Iceman, Habibti, and Maid of Honor.
Dave now carries Chris’s legacy forward, bringing the care, precision, and musical attention that have always defined Chris Athens Masters.

Dave Huffman
Dave has been with Chris Athens Masters since April 2013. His work as a mastering assistant has earned him credits on numerous multi-platinum albums and singles, including projects from Drake, Mac Miller, PartyNextDoor, Yo Gotti, Zach Bryan and more.
Additionally, his uncredited mastering assistant work features artists such as The Black Crowes, Childish Gambino, Aerosmith, J. Cole, Ingrid Michaelson, Robert Glasper, The Weeknd, and countless others.
Since transitioning to the role of official mastering engineer at Chris Athens Masters in late 2020, Dave has mastered projects across a variety of genres for artists including Sunsetto, 88GLAM, Armani White, Akon, K-OS, Chetta, Zia Victoria, Polyphia, Lil Tony, Skrilla, Ndotspinalot, Kyle Lux and The Devil Wears Prada.
